High protein breakfasts you need to try

Nutrition

If you have a busy schedule and often times, short mornings, it may be hard to incorporate a healthy and nutritious breakfast. However, breakfast is the most important meal of the day – and even more important to have a nutritious one.

These three delicious recipes are healthy, protein-packed and easy to prepare the night before or in the morning.

Berry Overnight Oats

Ingredients: (for one jar)

  • ½ cups of rolled oats
  • 1 scoop of vanilla whey protein
  • 1tsp of chia seeds
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yoghurt
  • Mixture of berries (raspberry, blueberry, cherry)

Combine the first four ingredients in a jar, shake them to stir them well, top with the berries and leave in the fridge overnight – that’s all you have to do – super easy and super delicious!

The beauty of this recipe is that you are able to make 5-7 jars at a time that keeps you well-stocked for the week ahead. You can make the jars about 4-5 days in advance, making this breakfast convenient for anyone.

Moreover, chia seeds are beneficial in reversing inflammation, regulating cholesterol and lowering blood pressure. Not only is this dish very healthy due to its components but it will leave you satiated for a long time.

Banana, Vanilla & Almond Butter Protein Shake

Ingredients:

  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 scoops of vanilla whey protein (choose whatever Protein that works best for you)
  • Tablespoon of almond butter
  • A handful of Ice Cubes
  • 200ml of Almond milk (this can be substituted with any milk you prefer)

To make this delicious shake, all you have got to do is add all the ingredients into a food processor/Nutri Bullet and mix it together. Add some ice cubes if you prefer an icy beverage.  With 30g of protein in this shake, this is a great start to your day.

Chocolate Protein, Peanut butter, & Flaxseed Shake

Ingredients:

  • 2 scoops of chocolate whey protein
  • Tablespoon of peanut butter
  • A handful of Ice Cubes
  • 200ml of Almond milk (can be substituted)
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 Teaspoons of Flaxseed

This shake is similar to the vanilla version above, however, for those chocolate lovers, this could be a great start to your morning. The method is the same but is substituted by chocolate flavours and peanut butter. As peanut butter is crunchier than almond butter it gives the shake some extra texture. We have added flaxseeds due to its array of health benefits including; improving cellular health, anti-ageing and hormone balance.
