Each appointment is up to 50 minutes long and starts on the half hour.

It’s very similar to when you see a personal trainer at a gym or a physiotherapist for helping after a physical injury. A set of appointments allows new techniques to be learnt, practised and improved. Everyone responds at a different rate, so there’s no simple answer. The NHS recommends starting with six appointments as this shows a significant improvement for most people.
If you have used up all your purchased appointments you can purchase more as required, whether this is just one more or several more. And remember you don’t need to use them straight away – they will last up to one year from date of purchase.
Yes – it is possible to just use an audio connection and, at any point during the appointment, it’s easy to turn off/on the video or the sound. You may find it is easier with video as you can communicate using many non-verbal signals. Your facial expressions, hand and body movements form a helpful part of the dialogue especially if you find talking difficult.
If you are unable to attend an appointment you must give 24 hours notice to your therapist and they will arrange a new appointment for you. Just as with face-to-face counselling, if you give less notice or no notice at all, you will lose your appointment as our therapist will have held that time open for you and will be unable to offer it to another client at such short notice.
It’s usually more beneficial to see the same therapist each time and this is the “default mode” when making the next appointment. But, yes, there is the option to change.
Your therapist is assigned to you depending on availability for the date/time of your initial appointment and assessment. From then on, your appointments will all be with the same therapist for continuity of care.
Currently, all our therapists are based in the UK.
Unfortunately, no, our therapists are only available through the Mynurva video appointment service.
No, there’s no need to see your GP for a referral to the Mynurva service and no records are forwarded to your family, GP or employer. Just purchase your session and you’re good to go.

Whilst the team at Mynurva would love to provide this service to young children, help by video counselling may not be the most appropriate method. If there is a need for children just below our current minimum age of 11 please contact us.

Yes, you can gift a package of counselling sessions from Mynurva. However, as this counselling is confidential, no information can be passed on regarding when any counselling actually happened or what was discussed. We offer a range of packages to suit all needs from a single session to a package of 6 sessions.
The service you receive from Mynurva or a traditional counselling service is the same. But the benefit is no waiting times, no visiting unfamiliar consulting rooms and no chance of being spotted by friends or workmates going in or out of counselling. It’s also very time efficient and Covid-safe.
So far we have found that lunchtime, early and late evening are the most popular times. We introduced appointment times on the half hour to cater better for lunchtime breaks and evenings straight after work.

The Mynurva service will work anywhere where you have a reliable internet connection. This might be at home, near the office, in your car or even outside. It’s best to choose somewhere quiet and where you won’t be disturbed.
When you see a Mynurva therapist, no notes of what has been discussed are kept on Mynurva systems, and no records are forwarded to your GP or employer. Mynurva was set up so employees could seek help without their boss or colleagues knowing, and without any record being added to their medical records.
Yes, our service is completely Covid-secure as it’s conducted entirely online via video so, as long as you are at home, in your car or other safe space, there’s no additional risk of catching Covid-19.
